Paying homage through its name to the locally found Eastern Grass Owl (Tyto capensis) TYTO Wetlands is a 110 hectare rehabilitated wetland area, home to unique flora and fauna including over 240 species of birds and many Agile Wallabies. With extensive walking tracks, bird hides and viewing platforms, it is a great way to get up close and personal to wildlife with the most rewarding experiences found in the early morning or late afternoon.

The fully accredited visitor information centre boasts fun, interpretive and interactive displays. It is your gateway to Hinchinbrook. The TYTO Wetlands are open daily and free to explore. Don’t forget to take water, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and your camera.
